RENTWOOD, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Spero Health, a CARF-accredited organization and national leader in the treatment of substance use disorders, announced today the company will continue to expand local access to affordable, effective, physician-led treatment with a new outpatient addiction treatment clinic in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Clarksville clinic joins the organization’s network of more than 30 outpatient treatment locations spanning 4 states. Dr. Janet Pelmore, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and certified in Addiction Medicine will be the medical director at this clinic. Dr. Pelmore has an extensive and distinguished background focused on substance use disorders in Tennessee.
New data from the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reveals there were 1,818 drug overdose deaths in 2018, the highest total since 2014. In Montgomery County alone death rates due to overdose have doubled in the last 4 years. The state has expanded resources to address the epidemic and leaders from Spero Health say they can be part of the solution as there is a considerable need for high-quality treatment providers locally.
“Traditionally addiction treatment services have been fragmented, and not patient centered. Options have been limited because someone needing help may have to go to multiple places, and in some cases even travel to costly residential programs. Spero Heath changes that by bringing all of the necessary services needed in recovery under one roof, giving individuals local access to transformative treatment to sustain long-term recovery,” said Steve Priest, CEO of Spero Health. “Individuals need fast access to coordinated and integrated treatment, and care needs to be individualized focusing on disease management rather than a certain time frame,” Priest added
Dr. Pelmore said, “Spero Health’s priority is to meet individuals where they are in their journey and tailor their treatment plan to meet their specific needs. Once an individual is stabilized, we provide support for sustained recovery — oftentimes for many months, depending on the individual. Our support team offers medication, counseling and other support services. This combination of therapy, called medication assisted treatment (MAT) has been shown for many years to have the highest success rate for long term recovery.”
