Over 450,000 Americans have died from drug overdose in the last 20 years, and the pandemic made everything worse. It inflamed already out of control public health crises – drug addiction and drug overdose deaths. Many Americans experienced new mental health challenges and pre-existing ones have worsened. Because of this, some of those affected have turned to self-harm, substance abuse, or have increased their tolerance to or dependence on harmful substances. It is critical for communities to have access to life-saving addiction treatment options, and we are working very hard to make that happen in as many places as possible. We are especially excited to welcome Elisha Clark to the local treatment team in Cambridge. She is a well-known Nurse Practitioner and lifelong resident of Guernsey County who uniquely understands how important it is for local community members to have quick access to comprehensive treatment options and resources.”
